Ribbon Cutting

The Colorado City Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at Kotton Patch Floral on Friday, Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. The new flower shop is located at 1040 Hickory. Everyone is welcome to attend and welcome the new business to the community.

Girls Softball Sign-ups

Mitchell County Girls softball will continue signups at Texas Caps & T-Shirts. Softball is open to children ages 5 to 14. Cost is $60 for first child and $50 for each additional child. If this is the first year for your child to play, please bring birth certificate.

Soccer Sign-ups

Mitchell County Youth Soccer Assn. will begin signups on Sun., Jan. 30 at the Housing Authority from 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Play is open to kids ages 3 to 15. Cost is $60 for the first child and $50 for second. Estimated start date is March 7. Coaches are needed in all age groups.

Garden Club

The Garden Club will meet in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. on Feb. 4, 2022. The program will be “The Poppy Mallow” presented by Dr. Amos, Botanist for Angelo State University. Visitors are welcome. Call or text Georgia Harris at 325-432-8721 by Jan. 31 for a reservation. Lunch will be catered spaghetti and meatballs.

Loraine ISD Book Fair

Loraine ISD will hold a book fair on Feb. 7 – 11. Every purchase from the book fair earns rewards for the school. There is an interactive book list and on-line shopping. Go to www.scholastic.com/bf/loraineschool.
