Ribbon cutting for new MCHD facilities is Friday, March 11

Mitchell County Hospital District is sharpening their scissors for the grand opening of the Mitchell County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Physical Therapy and Wellness Center.
A ribbon cutting ceremony for both of the new facilities is planned for March 11 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. located at 997 W. I-20 in Colorado City.
The event will be a come and go for both facilities and MCHD will have staff on hand at both the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Physical Therapy and Wellness Center to answer any questions.
Mitchell County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Robbie Dewberry is excited for the community to see the new facilities, “As both projects are wrapping up we can’t wait to show the community the two new beautiful facilities we have built for them. The new Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is not only state of the art but has lots of natural light and open spaces for the residents to feel at home. We are excited for the new Wellness Center to offer a spacious workout space for the community. Our Physical Therapy staff is excited to bring new PT options for our patients with the aquatic pool. Our goal is to always provide the best service we can to our community,” said Dewberry.
Mitchell County Hospital District board approved the funds for the new facilities in November 2020 and broke ground on the new facilities in January 2021.
Chief Operating Officer for MCHD, Murry Hill had this to say, “Your future is only as good as the work you put into it! Mitchell County Hospital District has prepared Colorado City’s future by building a 23,000 square foot state of the art 60 room resident Nursing Home, new 11,000 square foot Physical Therapy, Wellness Center and Aquatic Therapy pool.”
