March 15, 2022

Westbrook ISD will be welcoming a new Wildcat on April 1. Dr. Raemi Thompson will be bleeding blue as the new superintendent for WISD.

Thompson was born and raised in Howard County, and a graduate of Sands CISD and is currently serving in her 20th year of education.

In her years as an educator, she had been a classroom teacher, a campus testing coordinator, a principal, and has spent the last six years as the Curriculum Director/Assistant Superintendent for Big Spring ISD.

“West Texas is my home, and I am committed to upholding the small town values I have already witnessed from some of you as I begin my journey as a Westbrook Wildcat. I am simply humbled and honored to be invited to join the Westbrook ISD community as your incoming Superintendent of Schools. As a small town girl myself, I have BIG expectations for Westbrook and hope to provide an array of opportunities for all stakeholders committed to the success of our Wildcats,” said Thompson.

Thompson plans to spend the next few weeks, at various activities and events prior to officially stepping in to her new role on April 1.

“My husband and I have been following Westbrook athletics for a couple of years now with family ties rooting for a “W” either under Friday night lights or swishing the “Round-ball”. We have witnessed a strong and passionate community who truly want the best for their kids, and we are just ecstatic to be a part of your team,” said Thompson.

Dr. Thompson welcomes the community to reach out and introduce yourself. She believes in relationships and trust, “Relationships and trust are key in building an effective school culture I know change can be challenging, but please let me assure you that I am here to work with you as we continue to grow Westbrook ISD’s ‘Commitment to Excellence’.”
