Vaccines being made available for senior citizens
Good news for 100 senior citizens in Mitchell County is coming in the form of Maderna vaccine.
The Texas Department of Emergency Management, in conjunction with the National Guard, will be here March 16 to distribute the vaccine to citizens 65 years of age or older, or are homebound.
If you have not had the vaccine and would like to get it, call the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office at 325-728-5261 between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Your name will be put on a list for the vaccine until the number reaches 100.
The information you will need for the sheriff’s office is your name, address and phone number.
The National Guard and medical staff will begin Tuesday, March 16 at 8 a.m. and will travel to citizens’ homes to administer shots.
This is a good opportunity for the homebound and senior citizens of the county to get the vaccine in the comfort of their own homes.
