Texas Electric Service Company linemen had a different type of hazard to overcome recently when No. 1 Brown well of Colorado City gushed salt spray and sand 100 feet into the air for three days in 1941. Salt falling on the wires and insulators of one of the 66,000-volt power lines threatened to short out service to the town.
